Happy times

So, I'm just getting back to this blog after creating it like a four months ago. chloe is now almost 5 months old. hard to believe how fast that went. she's almost half a year old! crazy. it's interesting too bc all of our baby showers were in the spring so even though she has plenty of clothes to fit her now, they're all summery. hard to believe, but there are not a lot of warm clothes for babies 3-6 months at walmart. and they claim to have everything...we're having so much fun as she smiles at us and giggles when she's in the mood. she's so full of personality. when you're holding her, she's always squirming to see what's behind her no matter which direction she's facing. she'll arch her back and roll over just to keep moving. she loves her little jumper chair, we think, because she has her freedom to move around. she just talks and talks and grunts and makes weird sounds. every morning, josh and i wake up to the sounds of chloe playing in her crib - rolling over, sucking on her feet, trying to put the entire mattress in her mouth... when i go in to get her in the mornings, she gives me a huge grin like she's so happy to see me. then as i take her into the living room, she squints her eyes against the light but then opens them very wide as if she's seeing everything in the living room for the first time. everyone keeps telling us that we need to enjoy this time but i'm not sure if we can enjoy it any more than we already are.

in addition, i LOVE my job. what could be better than teaching non-native English speakers? they're motivated, friendly, super-respectful, do their homework... i get to learn about so many cultures and hear different accents and words. i have to use my brain to think of ways to explain some of the random details about the english language, but also get to "help" students. it's great. one student even told me he went to the prayer room on campus to pray for me. seriously, it's wonderful.

ok, i'm going now. the biggest loser and antm are both on tonight - very exciting. until next time....
